So much going on

So, I keep meaning to write, but there's so much going on. I've been busy at work, and after work I've been studying for my FAR CPA exam that I'm taking on April 15th (I know, it's a bit ironic). I've spent a lot of time with my new friend Lisa since we've been working together, we've become great friends. However, I've been an important confidant for her while she deals with the difficult situation of breaking off her engagement (totally the right thing to do, but very difficult since he's a wonderful guy, she's just not in-love). I've been working hard at not watching TV, which is what I gave up for Lent. I've been busy throwing my first party at my apartment for some friends from work last weekend, a great success with everyone saying it was just the relaxing evening they had needed. I've also been working very hard at not thinking about Nick, who, after playing by the book and calling me exactly 3 days after our date to tell me that he had a great time and would like to see me again and I quickly invited him to my party that Saturday and he responded with a possibly, he had tentative other plans to go down to Austin with some friends but he would call me back later in the week and let me know, still (almost 2 weeks later) has not called me back. Quite baffling. Anyway....
Today I got home and found a letter in the mail. I was very excited, I never get letters, just bills and adds. I turned over the envelope and recognized the address right away. I've know that address for the past 18 years, Indian Rock Way, Los Gatos, CA. It's from Leslie. Leslie and I have been "friends" since we were in Miss. Borgia's second grade class together. When I moved to Connecticut, we kept in touch and even flew out to see each other once. I'm the one that was bad at keeping in touch. I was never good at keeping a pen-pal, but she was. She was a great friend, always remembered my birthday. Over the years, we got busy and wrote less and less, however, our parents always exchanged Christmas cards. Every year, I ask my parents if the "Lawrences" have sent their card yet. I've kept up with everything through that yearly note. Mr and Mrs. Lawrence got divorced 4 years ago, Carmel remarried 2 years ago. Leslie started dating a boy in high school, it's been 7 1/2, they got engaged over a year ago. The card that came in the mail today is a "Save the Date" card with a two paged typed letter from Leslie. She wants to re-establish our correspondences and is "really hoping" I can come to her wedding in September. I was so touched I got all teary-eyed. What a special friend. I am the luckiest person in the world when it comes to friends. My friends are wonderful, thoughtful, kind, carrying, sweet, and lovable. Of course, I will be there in Los Gatos or San Francisco, or wherever the wedding is. 18 years...and we only lived in the same area for 3 of those years, and now I'm going to her wedding. Life is so amazing. How it keeps going but certain things are constant.
On that note, I must be getting to bed. I've got to hide Easter Eggs for my Sunday School class in the morning.
Happy Easter Everyone....He is risen!
Love to all
