One Week....

to relax a little, study a lot, and celebrate a good deal. I’m taking a week off from work, as recommended by every partner I talked to at KPMG. Well, I need it since I’ll be (hopefully) taking the CPA exam again in January and starting busy season in January as well. I need this time off, just as everyone needs to slow down and appreciate the true Joy of Christmas. Everything is going so well; I’m keeping so positive through the tough work and the CPA studying.

This past weekend I went to a Christmas party for my church’s 20something group. It was so much fun and so well attended. I’m making friends…finally! Saturday morning I met up at the church to deliver angel tree presents to families in need. I drove to parts of Dallas I’ve never seen before. I was filled with such feeling of duty and obligation. There are so many things I want to do to give back to the community. I’m going to make it my goal for 2005 to be more involved with my community.

On Saturday night I went to the American Airlines Center (the beautiful new stadium where the Mavericks and the Stars play, and the circus comes and big performers come as well). Well, the partner I have been working with got the KPMG suite for the group that was in Arkansas. We were in the lap of luxury in the KPMG suite for the Dallas Mavericks vs. Atlanta Hawks. The game wasn’t very exciting but the suite was! It was huge, beautiful, and high tech, with an LCD TV, a sitting area with leather couches, a kitchen, food, a computer with Internet access, and 3 tiers of seating, the first with bars and bar stools. It was awesome. The coolest thing was a special tribute they had for injured soldiers. The season ticket holders for the stadium floor seats gave their tickets to the returned injured soldiers from Iraq. I have to say, I love Texans. They really do know how to honor their troops. Well, it’s started a trend, now; every NBA team’s season ticket holders are doing the same.

Well, Today….It snowed!!! It snowed here in Dallas Texas on December 22!!! While I was writing Christmas cards. What a picturesque moment. I decided today would be a good day to watch “White Christmas”.

Well, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope you are all full of the joy and meaning of Christmas. I love you all!!!
