One Year!

Happy one year anniversary Thoughts from a Curly-Haired Bean Counter! Just think of it, one whole year of posts that are read by (two) people all over the world! ! Thanks so much to the people that make this worth while and introduced me to the world of Bloging (You Know Who You Are).

I guess that means that I've been working for a year, and living in my apartment in Dallas for a year. It's been a pretty good year.

So, in my one year blog, I will discuss the issue I love to discuss most, but haven't had the opportunity to write much about over the past year...boys (OK, so maybe I've discussed it, but it hasn't been very interesting or exciting) .
I saw a famous boy (old man) on my way to dinner with my friend Sarah on Saturday night at Patritzio's. Across the street (this is Highland Park Village - swanky swanky swanky) is Cafe Pacific, where my family has gone a handful of times for my mom's birthday and Mother's day. Very nice seafood restaurant. There, of course, is valet in front of these two restaurants, but I didn't want to valet, I need the exercises. However, I pulled up right behind this blue Cadillac type of car in the valet line. I really wanted to pass it, but the valets were all standing in the middle of the street, and I'm thinking, "how many valets do you need for one car!" and then the driver gets out slowly and he stands in the middle of the street. I'm starting to think, move you old fart, and then he turns around and I realized, for the second time in my life, in the exact same spot (Cafe Pacific) Ross Perot was standing in front of me. He's a short little old bald man with big ears, and, apparently, he likes his gourmet seafood.
Sarah and I talked about boys all evening. I haven't done that in a while. But we talked about how silly and stupid guys are. How hard it is to find an intelligent and fun guy our age. I avoided mentioning a particular boy because I wanted to see if she would bring it up. But she didn't. SO I decided to take action. I said "So can we finally talk about Patrick!" Sarah squealed and said "YOU LIKE HIM! OH that's great, he really likes you!" So I discovered that Patrick had a crush on me after our first meeting....I didn't know that. Sarah and Mary were both telling him things (on our second meeting) any time I turned around, like "Go, Go sit next to her" and "Go drive her back to her car" "TALK TO HER" Apparently, Patrick is usually shy around girls, so Sarah and Mary put him in situations where he couldn't be shy. I had NO idea it was all a big set up, but he told Sarah he thought I was "sweet, cute, and really nice" before this whole set up.
It feels really good just to know that someone finds you desirable.
Poor Patrick. He's miserable right now (all info per Sarah, I haven't talked to him since he left town). He is stuck living in his principals house with no friends in town, in the middle of destruction. He's a bit depressed. So, apparently, Sarah's mother has offered him Sarah's apartment, which is now habitable (without Sarah's blessing). (Sarah is now working out of Dallas for her job). However, Sarah has been friends with Patrick for a long time and trusts him completely.
Well, Sarah has given herself the roll of match maker for us and has decided she's going to make this work. We'll see. It's just nice to know that my romantic life has possibilities.
OK,
Peace Out Y'all
Love to all
