Hello Vacation

So, after spending 15 of my 25 personal days for CPA studying, I am finally spending 5 days of my personal time for...vacation! My friend from Wake Forest, my CPA study partner, my golf class partner, is getting married on Friday in her home town of Pensacola Florida. I am going to her wedding, but first, I am spending 4 days at the beach in Destin Florida. Tomorrow morning early, I will get on a plane and fly to Atlanta. I wil be met by my freinds Mark and Shelley and we will all stay at their new house in ATL for the night. Monday morning, Shelley and I will make the 5-6 hour drive down to Destin Florida for 4 nights in Destin and 1 night in Pensacola, and 1 wedding. I'm very excited and feel great! I've got two great books ('arry Potter and Stephanie Plum - Eleven on Top), lots of sun screen, and a desire to lie in the sand.
I started my vacation early with a partner community event Wednesday night and Thursday morning. A group of 16 KPMGers drove up to Lake Texohma, stayed in a smokey lodge (some of us trying to sleep over the loud voices of the drunken men of our group seperated by a paper thin wall). We awoke the next morning at 5:10 AM to the men folk ponding on our door to make sure we got up and out by 6 AM. We left the dock in our 4 boats at 6:15. Lucky for me, it was very unseasonably overcast and cool, so it didn't get hot until 10:30 when the sun came out. I was on a boat with 1 intern that I absolutely love, one new senior who moved here 2 weeks ago from the Philapiens, 1 manager I'd never met before and her husband, and our guide Brian. Ah Brian, it wouldn't have been nearly as fun without Brian. Now don't get me wrong, the fishing rally wasn't bad after I cleaned up the blood of the fish that splatered everywhere (I really can't handle blood), and the KPMGers on my boat were great, but Brian.....what a friendly hotty. At 9:30, when it was still cold, Brian decided it was time to go shirtless...what a shame.:) Anyway not as bad as I had envisioned. Of course, if it hadn't been for the 5 of us girls who drove up together, bonded, and had a sleep over in the 5 bed bunk bed room, I would have been misserable, but they were so nice and so fun. I'm so lucky to "work" (not usually directly) with such nice, sweet, and silly girls.
THEN, Friday evening, I got two visitors from out of town. One of my favorite married couples Ashley and Derek. The last time I saw Derek was when I was a brides maid in their wedding. I saw Ashley the day I took my last North Carolina CPA exam. Anyway, more than a year ago. I took them to Mattitos for dinner, very good tex-mex and excellent Margaritas. I then got to see pictures of their new house - so pretty and nice! This morning we went to the JFK 6th floor museum. I don't remember the last time I saw it, but it was excellent. So much history and information. I learned so much and really enjoyed it. We then went to the Original Sonney Bryans BBQ and ate reall Texas BBQ, very yummy.
Now, after 4 hecktic days, I am leaving for a week of relaxation. I am so happy. Take care, all you wonderful friends out there.
Much love to all
