Update!
An update:
Today I started work...sort of. Today was the first day of orientation for my CAREER as an auditor for the accounting firm KPMG. I, of course, was dressed for the part with my new really cute shoes, my new, to-die-for, grey skirt and peach blouse, and my new black leather purse! We started at 10AM and got out at 3PM. I'd hardly call that work, but KPMG is kind enough to ease us into the working world. Tomorrow we start at 8:30AM and we will get out around 5. Not too bad.
So, I arrived at 9:30 along with 10-15 other A-typical, afraid to be late on the first day-people. I think there were about 35 of us "new hiers". It wasn't that exciting. We got a pretty good overview of important matters such as, logging hours and sending in our time reports and expenses, setting goals and meeting with our performance managers, what KPMG LLP stands for (Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler, Limited liability partnership - most of us only knew the PM and LLP). I met some nice people and relearned the names of some friends I had made during the internship 1 1/2 years ago. It was a good way to start things out. Tomorrow we'll get our computers (yeay) and start getting into our required computer training courses/quizzes..blah blah blah.
I leave for our national training in Chicago on Monday, that should be....long....tedious....sprinkled with a little fun. For the most part, I like the other new hiers so I'm looking forward to making some friends-yeay for friends!
Wow this is such an exciting and interesting blog, I'm sure!
That's it for work so far. I'm 3 chapters in to studying the 9 chapters of FAR again for the CPA...again. All that fun! At least I've already taken it once, unlike a lot of the other new hiers...I'm ahead of the game.
So, I should probably get back to studying for a little while. I'm meeting my mom for dinner at Cheesecake Factory at 7 so I need to get something accomplished.
